Hi there!

My name is Victoria, but most people call me Tori. I am a certified Birth/Labour and Postpartum Doula. I am originally from Ottawa, Ontario but I am now a Maritimer, as I have lived and loved Nova Scotia for the last eight years. I moved out east to attend Acadia University, where I received an Undergraduate Degree in Community Development and since then I am living in the Annapolis Valley with my husband, Brent. During my time at Acadia I had several opportunities to work with different communities and it was through this that I found my calling as a Doula.

I have a passion for family and infant health, especially the birthing person’s health and wellness. I love helping people during the experience of bringing new life into the world. I am a facilitator that is here to assist in a positive birth experience. I love working with my clients and becoming part of the birthing team. My doula practice includes a mix between evidence based practice and a holistic approach. I am empathetic and extremely passionate about everything I do. I love to learn from others and I enjoy being active in Nova Scotia’s great outdoors. During my spare time, I enjoy singing and playing guitar, reading, playing ultimate frisbee with my partner, and doing anything that gets me moving and allows me to be in touch with my body and spirit.

I love the connection that a Doula and the birthing team create together. I believe Doulas are a wonderful addition to the birthing team. As a Doula, I understand the need for assistance and education throughout the journey of bringing new life into the world. My Doula work includes helping the birthing team by providing my extensive knowledge on the body, on physical techniques that aid with birth as well as providing my experience as a supportive facilitator.

It is with great passion that I will get to know the birthing person, their body, and their supports very well which will lead to a comforting and enjoyable birth experience. I look forward to meeting you and beginning this delightful journey of bringing new life to the world together.
